With the final members of staff receiving their second vaccinations in the next few weeks, we are looking forward to taking the first steps back to normality within the practice.
From the start of October, we will once again be allowing owners to come into the consulting rooms with their pets. However, having worked so hard (and so far, successfully) to avoid Covid hitting our team and affecting our staffing, we will be operating a staged return to normal.
The first stage, commencing Monday 4th October, will see clients and pets being called in from the car or outside waiting area by a vet or nurse and brought straight into the consulting room for history taking, examination, and treatment as needed. The vet or nurse will then accompany you back outside where our lovely receptionists will meet you to deliver any medications needed and to take payment.
We hope this will allow you to stay with your pets for the entirety of your visit but prevent a large number of people congregating in the waiting room and at the reception desk, where space limitations mean we are unable to socially distance. We are also happy to continue the outside pet collection service for those of you who would feel happier remaining outside for now.
We do ask that all clients entering the building wear a face mask (or show confirmation that you are medically exempt). Except in special circumstances, we will be requesting that you keep to one person per pet entering the building. We continue to ask that anyone with signs of covid 19, including cold or flu symptoms or a high temperature not attend the practice, but contact us by phone if urgent veterinary advice is needed.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding so far. We are aware that cases are slowly increasing again and we hope this staged approach will keep everyone as safe as we can, but we will continue to review our protocols as the situation changes.
