Our mission is to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress for the patients of Copthorne Vets Fear Free veterinary visits reduce fear, anxiety, and stress and create an experience that is more enjoyable for all involved, including our patients, our clients, and our team.

It is sometimes easier to focus on the physical needs of our patients but their emotional wellbeing is just as important to us.

We look at the whole patient journey from the waiting area, through to the examination room, treatment room, and patient wards should they need to be admitted for a short stay.

To make these environments as relaxed and safe as possible we use stress-reducing pheromones, play music, use non-slip mats, and always have treats and toys to hand.

Our team is trained to recognise body language signs so they can tell if our patients are stressed or relaxed, and how the way we move, talk and touch our patients can affect them. We use gentle handling techniques that minimise stress and use lots of positive reinforcement to ensure that their experience is as fear-free as possible.
