Did you know 80% of dogs and 85% of cats over the age of 3 have some sort of dental disease? Could your pet be one of them?

Following on from some advanced dental training for our vets and nurses here at Copthorne Vets, we are pleased to announce we will be running a Dental Health Month in February, which entitles all clients to FREE Pet Dental Health consultations, 20% off any dental work and 5% off all dental products.

Cats and dogs are more prone to dental disease than us humans, as not only do they have much more alkaline saliva making them more prone to plaque formation, but they also don’t brush their teeth! We all know prevention is better than a cure so ideally teeth brushing (although as pet owners ourselves we know this isn’t always possible!) or additives to food, such as Plaque Off, are useful to prevent dental disease taking hold, but often it is easiest to start from a clean slate with a scale and polish. However, if tartar build up becomes too advanced it can lead to painful gingivitis or inflammation of the gums and eventually lead to tooth loss. We all know how painful toothache can be but as they can’t tell us if it hurts, it is really important to monitor our four legged friends for subtle signs of dental issues, such as reluctance or difficulty eating, apparent loss of appetite or bad breath.

Our vets may have already recommended a dental for your pet or you may have concerns yourself, so please give us a call to take advantage of our February offer on 01743 360 614 or pop in to chat to our reception team.
