Success for our Cat Advocate Stacey

Stacey is a familiar friendly face who has been with us for almost 10 years! She is one of our Registered Veterinary Nurses and is also our very own Cat Advocate as recognised by the ISFM (International Society of Feline Medicine). Over the last 12 months, Stacey has been studying hard and has been awarded the ISFM Certificate in Feline Nursing, a course provided by the International Cat Care organisation to enhance the knowledge and skills of veterinary professionals working with cats.

The course covered various aspects of feline care, including:

  1. Understanding Feline Behaviour: Learn about feline behaviour and its relevance to veterinary practice, including common behavioural problems and solutions.
  2. Creating a Cat-Friendly Practice: Principles to improve the handling and care of cats in veterinary settings.
  3. Practical Feline Nursing: Focus on preventative healthcare, clinical examination, and practical handling techniques for cats.
  4. Feline Pharmacology and Fluid Therapy: Understanding medications, analgesia, and fluid therapy specific to feline patients.
  5. Common Diseases in Cats: Overview of infectious and non-infectious diseases, including diagnostic and treatment approaches.
  6. Feline Nutrition: Insights into the specific nutritional needs of cats and the implications of improper nutrition.

We are all extremely proud of all of the hard work Stacey has put in and of her passion and dedication to her patients! Well Done Stacey!
