Due to changes enforced by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), regulations have changed regarding the prescribing of antibiotics.

From 1st September 2023, ANY type of antibiotic can only be prescribed following a physical examination by a veterinary surgeon.

This includes ALL types of antibiotics – injectable, oral, and topical treatments that are often used to treat ear and eye conditions.

These positive changes have been made by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to ensure the safeguarding of both animal and human health from antibiotic overuse and resistance, a global problem that we all need to address.
